MEANING OF THE TITLE Evulsio alludes to the act of violently tearing out, extracting or expelling something that is deeply rooted. Applied to the work, the term represents an extreme liberation: the need to free oneself from what has been accumulated within over time, pushing the individual to the limit of their endurance. It is not a voluntary and serene separation, but a visceral, violent expulsion caused by a tension that can no longer be contained. ABOUT THE WORK A body pushed to its maximum tension occupies the lower part of the composition. The musculature, the gesture and the posture reveal a state of extreme pressure, as if all the energy contained within were desperately seeking an outlet. From it emerges a second figure, projected upwards in a movement of liberation. Its body appears lighter and more relaxed, creating a strong contrast with the rigidity of the figure below. They are not two separate individuals, but two states of the same being: the one that endures and accumulates, and the one that finally manages to free itself from what oppresses it. The visual violence that accompanies this expulsion transforms the space into a discharge. Strokes, splashes and eruptions run through the bodies and the surrounding space, making visible an energy that leaves the individual at the same time as the liberated figure distances itself from its origin. Evulsio thus represents a catharsis taken to the limit: the moment in which what poisons, oppresses and consumes from within is finally torn out and expelled. The tension remains in the body that makes the effort; the liberation is manifested in the figure that emerges from it. Both are the representation of a single individual in the act of expelling from himself what he can no longer carry inside.
