Painting description

The painting depicts a vast crater of rock, as if the earth had suddenly caved in, leaving a wound. Cool purples, grays, dirty blues, and a milky light pooling at the bottom dominate. The composition draws the eye inward, truly, to the point of feeling uneasy. On the left is a heavy, dark mass of rocks, on the right a blurred but powerful cliff. A small building looms on the edge, adding scale and a quiet drama. It looks like an expressive, textured painting, with thick paint and gesture, part impasto, part fog. The sky is sad and vast. It's a hole like something from a fairy tale. I feel loneliness and fear here, but also a strange peace, almost sacred. The painting doesn't tell a story directly; rather, it whispers and scratches a little from within.
