Painting description

The painting is dominated by the cool white and bluish blue of snow, broken up by streaks of gray and cream, as if the paint were applied quickly and forcefully. In the center rises a massive mountain, triangular and heavy, and above it, the sky is a slightly unsettling shade of dirty pink and purple. To the left, a small shelter in warm yellows stands, with icy pillars standing beside it, vertical and stiff. It's quiet and cold, almost stinging. It looks like oil or thick impasto; the brushstrokes are rough and distinct, very tactile. I feel loneliness, but also stubbornness, because someone has finally arrived here. This is a huge mountain, and snow is everywhere.
