Painting description

The painting depicts a panorama of rooftops in shades of gray, brown, and olive green. Each line seems deliberately drawn, yet it creates a somewhat chaotic composition of roofs and chimneys. The shapes are geometric, with distinct edges. It's a bit like a puzzle that doesn't quite fit together. The mood is nostalgic, reminiscent of an overcast day when the city seems to be asleep and time slows down. The style is impressionistic, with dynamic brushstrokes. I could stare at it for hours. The impasto technique adds texture to the painting, making you almost feel the rawness of the roof tiles beneath your fingertips. For me, this painting is "calm before the storm." The emotions are mixed—on the one hand, peace, on the other, a faint longing for something ineffable. Perhaps someone will smell the old town in the rain, or a warm cup of tea. I see it as a warm autumn blanket and a glass of wine. "The houses have funny hats!" a child might say. Sometimes it's worth getting lost in everyday details that seem trivial at first glance, but hide beauty.
