Painting description

The painting depicts a surreal scene—the horizon is dominated by four enormous, dark industrial towers, from which soot-black billows of smoke rise. The sky is a blend of pastel shades of blue and orange that contrast with the somber towers. On the ground lies a naked child, curled into a fetal position, which lends an emotional element to the composition. The whole piece has an atmosphere of unease and melancholy. The artist employs the impasto technique, creating textural contrasts between the child’s smooth skin and the roughness of the ground. This painting fills me with sadness and prompts reflection on the impact of industrialization on the vulnerability of nature. The warm colors of the sky suggest hope, yet the dominant, austere structures of the towers seem to stubbornly deny it. The image invites thoughts about how technology and progress can overwhelm innocence. And suddenly I think to myself—wow, that's powerful. Looking at it, I’m reminded of a child’s words: “But why are they smoking?”—such a straightforward and apt question can draw out the depth of this work. The artist’s style is somewhat dreamlike, as if time and space bend under the influence of human actions. This clash between the might of technology and the fragility of life truly resonates with anyone who looks more deeply.
