THE CITY OF ŁOZOWSKO WIELKIE (paintings by Krzysztof Łozowski) Stretched canvases are decidedly too small to contain the magic of the City of Łozowsko Wielkie. This palette-city spills far beyond the edges of the canvas, leads the imagination into temptation, and plays with riddles. Just listen to how it whispers, sings, giggles... The air, aglow with guardian Sprites, is as light as they are. In streets seething with mischievous colors, Will-o’-the-Wisps play hide-and-seek, Oddball Birds chat with the moon, and the sighs of Poppy Ladies mingle with innocent little lies perched on the long nose of a wooden boy. It’s hard to say whether night exists here, for even the purples hung above the rooftops by the artist’s brush are but a promise of a sensuous dusk. This is a Fairytale Realm—a realm of promises, temptations, but also of secrets sealed in houses dozing in half-smiles. Houses—yet not houses—live, breathe...
