Painting description

The painting shows a boy sitting on a dilapidated pier. In the background, a river can be seen with paper boats floating on it. The colors shift from deep greens to golden hues, forming waves that add dynamism. The pier and the water contrast in their textures—the boards are rough and warped, while the water flows smoothly, like a soothing fabric. The whole scene has a nostalgic atmosphere, as if it were conjuring childhood memories. Using the impasto technique, the artist gives the piece a three-dimensional effect. The feeling that you could practically touch those waves is magical. And most importantly, the boy seems lost in his thoughts. Maybe he’s waiting for a great adventure, or daydreaming about a distant world. Looking at the painting, we feel as if we’ve returned to carefree times. Hey, it’s as if we ourselves once set those paper boats afloat. The work emanates warmth and calm, while at the same time stirring our imagination. As a 7-year-old would say: “these are boats that sail far, far away.” The painting makes us feel childlike joy and a longing for days gone by.
