I am a painter and interior architect based in Warsaw. My work explores movement, balance, and transformation — moments when the body, emotion, and surrounding space begin to speak the same language.

I move between figurative and semi-abstract painting. The female figure often appears at the threshold of change: emerging, dissolving, searching for balance, or quietly reclaiming her own space. Gesture, layered colour, light, and rhythm allow me to suggest movement without describing it literally.

My experience in interior architecture shapes the way I think about scale, composition, and the relationship between an artwork and its surroundings. I do not see a painting as an isolated object, but as a presence capable of changing the atmosphere of a space.

Movement has accompanied me through painting, dance, and equestrian sport. Each of these disciplines has taught me something about tension, control, freedom, and the instant in which balance becomes alive.

I live and work in Warsaw. My studio is located at Ludwiki 1, within the historic Second Wawelberg Colony.

Kamila Sitak is a Polish painter and interior architect based in Warsaw. Her work moves between figurative and semi-abstract painting, exploring movement, balance and transformation. The female figure often becomes a starting point for examining moments of change — states in which the body, emotion and surrounding space begin to speak the same language.

Movement has accompanied her throughout her life through dance, professional equestrian sport and her work with space. In her paintings, it appears not only through the figure but also through gesture, rhythm, layered colour and contrasts between presence and dissolution. Her architectural background influences her awareness of scale, composition, light and the relationship between an artwork and the interior in which it is experienced.

Sitak studied Interior and Exhibition Design at the Academies of Fine Arts in Wrocław and Warsaw. Following her participation in the European “Golden Kentaur” competition for young painters, she received a scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. She also completed postgraduate studies in Art Management at the University of Warsaw and an MBA programme. She previously worked with the Artists-in-Residence programme at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw and has collaborated with sculptor Jerzy Kędziora on exhibitions of balancing sculptures in Poland and abroad. She is a member of the Warsaw District of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP).

Her paintings have been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Poland and internationally. In 2020, her work was featured in the Australian curatorial publication “Leaders in Contemporary Art”. Her works are held in private collections in Europe, the United States, Canada, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

To me, the act of painting is...

A way of capturing movement, emotion and transformation — the moment when the body, color and space begin to speak the same language.

What was the first painting that you sold?

The first sale came as a wonderful surprise. It was the moment I realised that a very personal emotion expressed on canvas could become meaningful to someone else.

I’m inspired by...

Movement, strong personalities, changing light, architecture and the emotional tension between a figure and the space around it.

What's your favorite sentence?

Everything is in motion.

When was the last time you got a nice surprise?

Whenever a painting takes an unexpected direction and becomes more powerful than the idea with which I began.

A party is no good without...

Good music, fascinating people, and enough space to move.

I wish I had more...

Time to paint, travel and allow new ideas to mature.

Do you like nights?

Yes. Night brings silence, concentration and a different quality of light — ideal conditions for reflection and painting.

I love it when...

An idea finds its rhythm and everything — colour, light, movement and space — suddenly falls into place.

A cat or a dog?

A dog — and a horse. Both teach presence, trust and a completely different way of communicating.

If you could no longer paint, then...

I would continue creating through interiors, light, objects and spaces. Creativity always finds another language.

My favorite dish:

Anything shared around a beautiful table, preferably Italian or Mediterranean.

Bach, Elvis or Madonna?

None of them. Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone and Antonio Vivaldi.

If I could live forever, I would like to be...

Keep discovering new places, meeting inspiring people and creating work that connects art with life.
