Painting description

The painting transports us to a magical underwater world full of colors. In the foreground there is a castle, painted in shades of green, which could certainly be a mermaid’s home. Right next to it, on the top of a tower, sits a tall mermaid with blond hair, talking to a little bird. Her tail shimmers with different shades of blue. Everything is surrounded by a sea of waves in shades of blue and purple, giving the whole scene a calm yet slightly mysterious mood. It’s a bit as if we had found ourselves in a fairy tale or a dream. Is this painting surreal? Perhaps a little, thanks to the bright, almost childlike colors that remind us that art doesn’t always have to be serious. Again, the rest of the palette—purples, greens, and blues—creates a feeling of underwater peace. The artist probably used acrylic paints, combining them with a touch of collage technique, which adds texture and depth. Looking at this painting, one can feel surprise and joy. It’s like discovering a new world where anything is possible. For me, it brought back the childlike joy of discovering fairy tales. And what I like most are those colorful fish that look like they’re dancing in the sea. This can be interpreted as a space of freedom and carefreeness, a place where life is a game full of colors and smiles. Wouldn’t we all like to escape there sometimes?
