Painting description

The nocturnal landscape rises like a forest of spires and cathedrals. The deep-blue sky with a milky moon wraps ranks of slender towers. The walls’ golden and russet palette winks with red dots and clock faces. The composition is extremely vertical, and the bottom dissolves into dense fog. The brush worked finely and nervously; you can see glazes, impastos, and drawn, scratchy lines. It’s a style on the border of Gothic fantasy and Expressionism, with a touch of futuristic glow. I see great towers like something from a fairy tale, and the moon is shining. The mood is cool yet hypnotic, and one wants to disappear into it. I feel unease, yet also tenderness toward this stone orchestra. The city is deserted, and yet it still lives in the windows and in the lattices of lines. I wonder whether this is a dream of grandeur or a warning not to look only upward. A bit awkwardly put, but the painting is truly beautiful.
