The composition has a lot of air; the negative space pulses like a quiet lake. I see little balloons drifting up into the sky. The atmosphere is gentle, morning, a bit drowsy yet playful, as if someone had just blown on wet paint. I think it’s acrylic: broad patches laid down boldly and contours etched with a thin line, maybe with a stick; you can see abrasions and messy smears. The style balances between abstraction and a naive garden; it feels loose, yet everything works. I feel relief and curiosity; the world turns soft. The flowers speak of promise and fragility, of moments that pass faster than we want. I’d like to have it above my desk, because it brings calm and lets me breathe, a bit like an open window on a stuffy day.
