Painting description

McCullocks's aluminium acrylic paintings are constructed in layers. Initially in a gestural manner, then becoming more complex with each layer. By adding colour and cells she obscures the metal base. On this piece she has used domed, coloured gloss resin to give a 3-dimensional effect. Calming blues intertwined with a complex pattern of fine white and blue lines create an aesthetically pleasing image. This triptych is signed on the reverse, and is presented unframed. A plain unglazed box frame is recommended by the artist. Alternatively it can be hung using self-adhesive velcro Command strips. These adhere to the back of the artwork enabling it to be hung unframed.
