Tomasz Sętowski - Biography

   
Tomek Sętowski graduated from WSP in Czestochowa, the city where he was borne. Also in Czestochowa he created a very unique place, called by him: „The Museum of Imagination”. Visitors of magic rooms of the Museum encounter some monumental installations and feel like heroes of the stories told by Sętowski’s paintings. The Museum is divided into the gallery part, and atelier.  
 Sętowski had about 70 individual and collective exhibitions already, both in Poland and abroad. His works can be found in many important private and museum collections – among others, in the Museum of Fantasy Art in Switzerland, and the Sea Museum in Gdansk. The New York CFM Gallery presents Sętowski’s paintings next to these by Salvadore Dali, Leonor Finiandi and Michael Parkes. In March 2010 the Artist presented his artworks in Amsterdam on the International „Dreamscape” Show, together with twenty of the most recognized representatives of the “Magical Realism” current, like Gil Bruvel, Daniel Merriam and Victor Safonkin.
 Sętowski exhibits his paintings in New York, Las Vegas, Dubai and Abu Dhabi: he was one of the first western-European artists who appeared in The United Arab Emirates. Chapter of the Rolls Royce brand called Sętowski the ambassador of one of the most prestige models of the brand in the year 2001. During the Grand Prix Race Formula 1 in 2010 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital of The Arabic Emirates, there was a grand opening of Sętowski’s works, that was a great attraction for both the organizers and guests of the event. 
 Readers of Gazeta Wyborcza recognized the art and marvelous workshop of the artist, entitling him the „Artist of the Year”. Exhibition of his works: „The Magic Theatre” in the Municipal Art Gallery was called the Cultural Event of the Year. In the following year, the chapter of the most recognized personalities of the politics and culture in Poland called Sętowski the „Artist of the XXth century”. As recognition of his charity activity, the Artist became an honored member of BCC.
His paintings can be found on the covers of many various publications and magazines. Several album publications about the creativity of the Artist were published, two of which were prepared by “Muza SA” Publishing House and presented works of the artist through the 20 years of his artistic creativity. Sętowski is recognized one of the greatest modern artists by many art critics and art lovers.
