Pieskowa Skała is a medieval castle in Poland, near Krakow, which has a long and interesting history. Built on top of a rock and surrounded on three sides by an abyss. The castle was first mentioned in 1315 in the documents of Vladyslav Loketka under the German name "Peskenstein" and has an interesting legend, which tells that the first owner of the castle, Piotr Shafranets, was an alchemist and practiced black magic, tried to get gold from common metals. The legend also says that he killed many people, namely merchants whom he invited to the castle, arranged a festive dinner for them, and then when they fell asleep, the floor in their rooms opened and they fell onto the rocks below the castle and died.
