Les artistes parlent d’eux-męmes:
THE GOOGNESS AND THE APPERANCE OF IT
It was a cold autumn, it just finished raining. The new morning was sunny and I was still a little girl. Going down the forest path, I was gathering damp chestnuts and putting them into my coat pocket. I took great delight of the rich colours of the leaves that were falling off the trees. Nearby there was a small glade and located there was a huge stone. I used to climb up on it and was able to view the whole neighbourhood freely. That stone was overgrown with gray-green moss. Lost in thought, I looked down at my red sneakers that stood in contrast with the colour of the boulder. The moment I looked up I caught a glimpse of a similar color pattern that seemed to tremble at a distance. The forest bank was overgrown with green grass that was not very fresh and the toadstool’s cap of the grandest size was reddening amongst its blades.
I came up to that place to look at it from close up. Its beauty enchanted me and I was fully aware of the fact that it was the most poisonous species of all the mushrooms. This awareness was cruel all the more that a few weeks earlier a small child died in one of the nearby homesteads due to the toxic intoxication caused by the toadstool intake. Contemplating that event, I noticed a king bolete growing not too far from the mushroom that was the object of my interest. However, in my way of thinking it was visually uninteresting and therefore it did not attract my attention. It is probable that in the case of that little boy, the situation was similar to mine. Perhaps he was delighted by the beautiful vestment of the toadstool and so was I, but the boy did not have the faintest idea of the poison that the toadstool contained and was tempted enough to taste its red-white cap…
We open to beauty and it is natural. It is spirituality of a peculiar kind, therefore it possess such magnetic and huge power. Frequently, however, we ascribe only positive features to it, but at the same time it can be a deceptive illusion and its charm can sometimes be the toils of evil. The spell cast by its beauty does not yet prove that good is associated with it and that it is the embodiment of all possible virtues. Also that it always tells the truth and never lies. The danger of captivating our mind and emotions is hidden behind the pomposity of the beauty and not the freedom and joy - as we assume. One needs prudence and understanding. To put it in a different fashion: if we allow our vigilance to be silenced by the pretences of the beauty to be put to sleep; then even if the evil reveals itself in one of the moments. We will not notice it and belittle the threat that can become the threat for us.
Beauty, good, truth… those three notions when combined, comprise the ideal spiritual harmony that is yearned for by the human being and was lost when the man was deluded by the apparent beauty, apparent good, and truth in the Garden of Eden… He is looking for the way back, for instance, through the art…
